Why "Snō"?
Let's get this out of the way: no, we're not a snow cone stand. (Great guess though. We respect the hustle.)
Snō was born in Whitefish, Montana, a town where winter doesn't so much "arrive" as "move in and never leave." Snow on the mountains, snow on the roads, snow in places snow has no business being. So when it came time to name a bakery built in the middle of all that white, powdery chaos, the answer was sitting right outside the window.
But here's the double meaning we're way too proud of: snow isn't just what's falling outside, it's basically what's happening in the kitchen too. Flour dusting every surface. Sugar drifting across the counter like a tiny, delicious blizzard. Powdered sugar snowing down on top of a cake like it's the first storm of the season. Turns out the stuff that makes Whitefish, Whitefish is the same stuff that makes cake, cake. We just shortened it to Sno, dropped the "w," and called it a brand.
How it actually started
Sno wasn't a business plan. It was a bit.
It started with fun, ridiculous baking videos made just to make people laugh, no grand vision, no five-year plan, just recipes and a camera. And then the internet did that thing the internet occasionally does right: people started asking, "Okay, but can you actually make me one of these?"
So they did. One custom cake. Then another. Then enough that "the boy who makes funny baking videos" needed to become "the bakery that makes your kid's birthday cake, and the cake for that party where everyone's going to ask who made it." Turns out you can't run a legit cake operation out of good vibes and a ring light forever; at some point you need a real, professional, licensed bakery to actually bake in.
That's Snō. Started as a joke, sugared into a business.
